The Kenyon Post
The Kenyon Post is a blog that reveals my thoughts and ideas on random subjects, may the be political, religious, popular culture. It doesn't matter, conversation, understanding and listening is the beginning to a relationship with those we come in contact with on a daily basis. Once we achieve those goals then we can grow.

No Compromising
A friend of mine were discussing how when we are young we are idealistic and we are always fighting for justice but once we gain something in this life, like property or anything of value we all of a sudden become stingy and greedy. We develop this them versus us mentality. I thought about that discussion and I came to the realization that once we start to accumulate some sort of income or wealth we begin to compromise our ethics and beliefs. We as a society are so very malleable. I think of the biblical story of Joseph and how when he was in the house of Potiphar he had access to everthing that his master had except his master's wife. Joseph had a pretty rough experience being sold into slavery by his own brothers because they were jealous. In Genesis 39 the story is told that once Potiphar's wife to notice of Joseph she made it her mission to seduce him. Joseph was a man of integrity and he rebuffed her at every turn. Potiphar's wife would not stop and one day Joseph when alone with her told her that he would not betray his master like that and then fled from her. There is more to the story and it was not pleasant but Joseph never compromised and in the end he wound up as the equivalent to the Prime Minister to the King of Eygpt. The moral of the story is to stay true to yourself and never compromise.
